Private career coaching with Keith Anderson

Your enterprise experience has value. Make it relevant to an early-stage or scaling company.

Moving from a large organization into an early-stage company, scale-up or mid-market organization takes a different approach to finding opportunities, explaining your impact and evaluating the right fit. My day job is executive and technology recruiting for venture capital-backed technology companies. I bring that firsthand perspective to a small number of professionals preparing for their next move.

Who this is for

Bring your enterprise experience to an early-stage or scaling company.

Explore opportunities with startups, scale-ups and mid-market organizations where your experience can make a meaningful difference. We'll help you identify the right fit, communicate your value and approach the people making hiring decisions.

This is for engineering, product, data, AI and technology leaders whose experience comes from large organizations in any industry, not only major technology companies. Whether you have recently lost a role, are exploring options while employed, or are already interviewing, you are welcome. Professionals already working at startups or mid-market companies are welcome too.

Rebuild your search after a layoff

A clear sequence for positioning, targeting and outreach when you need to move with intent rather than volume.

Explore your options confidentially

Think through role scope, tradeoffs and timing without announcing a search to your current employer.

Prepare for a different kind of interview

Practice the questions founders and hiring managers ask about ownership, prioritization and working with fewer resources.

Translate your value

Show the contribution behind the company name.

A recognizable employer can open a conversation. A founder, hiring manager or executive at your next company still needs to understand what you personally delivered, which decisions you owned and how that experience will help its business. We turn those details into clear positioning, relevant outreach and convincing interview examples.

Beyond job boards

Build conversations around business needs.

Public openings are one route into a company. Relationships and well-researched outreach can also uncover emerging needs and put you in relevant conversations. We identify where your experience matters, whom to approach and how to make the contact useful.

An exploratory conversation is not a confirmed job opening.

The method

Five steps from enterprise experience to your next move.

  1. 01

    Translate

Identify your personal contributions, decisions, measurable outcomes and domain knowledge behind enterprise titles and team achievements.

  2. 02

    Target

Distinguish early-stage startups, scaling businesses and established mid-market organizations. Choose based on role scope, resources, compensation needs, management preferences and risk tolerance.

  3. 03

    Reach

Map companies with relevant business problems using advertised roles, professional relationships, alumni networks and thoughtful direct outreach. Verify whether interest is an approved vacancy, an emerging need or an exploratory conversation.

  4. 04

    Demonstrate

Prepare specific examples of hands-on work, prioritization, resourcefulness, customer understanding and accountability.

  5. 05

    Evaluate

Ask about business health, leadership, role mandate, available resources, expectations, customer concentration, financing and compensation tradeoffs.

Questions

What people ask before starting.

Do I need to come from a technology company?

No. Large organizations in retail, financial services, manufacturing, consumer products, logistics and other industries employ engineering, product, data and AI professionals and leaders whose experience can matter to early-stage companies, scale-ups and mid-market organizations. Coaching focuses on those roles. Fit depends on your experience and target role.

Do I have to be unemployed?

No. Coaching also supports confidential exploration while you are employed. Professionals already working at startups or mid-market companies are welcome too.

Is an early-stage or scaling company necessarily the right next move?

No. Company stage and size do not guarantee growth, stability or fit. We compare early-stage companies, scale-ups and mid-market organizations on role scope, resources, leadership, expectations, financing, compensation and your preferences. Another enterprise role or a different path may fit better.

Can you help me find roles beyond job boards?

We can develop a relationship and direct-outreach strategy alongside advertised applications. We do not promise secret vacancies or interviews.

Does coaching include a job placement?

No. Paid coaching is separate from recruiting representation and does not purchase introductions or preferential consideration for searches.

Will you write my resume?

The offers include positioning and feedback. Full resume ghostwriting is not included.

What happens after payment?

After payment is verified, you receive scheduling and preparation instructions. If your interview is imminent, ask about availability before purchasing.

What if I have an urgent interview?

Ask about availability before paying. Turnaround depends on my calendar.

What are your cancellation terms?
  • Cancel or reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice.
  • If you cancel late, you get one courtesy reschedule.
  • If you buy the four-session advisory package, unused sessions are refunded.
